Office Staff: Mrs A Addison, Mrs M Weiss Mrs G Patrick

How we can help you

The office has a number of responsibilities:

  • Answer general enquiries.
  • Update pupil's personal information.
  • Provide login details for ParentPay
  • Book appointments for parents/carers to meet with staff.
  • Keep parents informed via newsletters, text messages and parent mail. We always have a spare copy of any letters sent home!

Letting the school know

Please ensure ALL contact details are up to date so we can contact you immediately should there be an emergency.

We keep in contact with parent/carers by e-mail rather than sending letters home with your children. Therefore, please make sure you keep us informed of your current e-mail address.

Communication with parent/carers

We send out a newsletter (electronically) every half term which includes details of educational visits etc.

There are notice boards at the front and back entrances to the school and families are welcome to enquire about putting information on them.

Absence

In the event of absence, please let the school know by contacting the school before 9.00am on the first day of absence.

Notification is most important as, if you do not make contact with the school; we are required by law to telephone you to find out why your child is not in school.

Tel: 020 8959 3423

Making Appointments

Should you wish to make an appointment to see any member of staff, including the Head teacher, Deputy Head teacher or Class Teachers. Please contact the school office either by phone or e-mail and state the nature of your enquiry.

Please remember, class teachers cannot see you during the school day when they are with their classes, but are available after school.

Payments

At Deansbrook Junior School we are using a more convenient way to pay for school meals, and other school items online, using a secure service called ParentPay.

By using ParentPay we are making the school a cash-free environment. Parents who need to make payments by cash may now do so using the PayPoint network at local convenience stores.

Please contact the school office if you have difficulty using ParentPay.

Term time Holidays

Parents are required to avoid taking holidays during term time, they will not be authorised unless there are exceptional circumstances. Please click on the link for Term Dates. Our Term Dates

Keeping Families Informed

The school operates an "open door" policy in relation to keeping parents informed about children's progress.

Parent Consultation Evenings are held twice a year, by appointment, but anyone who has a concern about a child is invited to arrange a meeting outside these times.

The first point of contact is always the Class Teacher, but if the concern persists, then please make an appointment to see the Year Leader then Deputy Head teacher or Head teacher.

In the Summer Term a written report is sent to parents and there is an opportunity to discuss this with the Class Teacher at our Open Evening in July.
