At Deansbrook Junior School your child's welfare is very important to all members of staff.
Our aim is to provide your child with a safe and healthy learning environment to enable them to grow and develop.
Miss Lewis is our Welfare Assistant and is there to help any child in need of assistance during the school day. There is a Welfare room with first aid facilities to deal with minor injuries. Miss Lewis also assists with monitoring absences and makes note of children's visits to the Welfare room. There are additional staff members who are trained first aiders who are on duty at all times and are based in classrooms and the playground during break-times.
Please do not hesitate to have a chat with Miss Lewis if you have concerns about your child's welfare in school.
Illness/Injury during the school day
Please do not send your child to school if he/she seems unwell. In the event of illness at school we shall contact you immediately- it is vital that your contact details are always up-to-date. We will do all we can to comfort your child until they are collected.
If your child sustains a minor injury whilst at school we will administer first aid. If your child has a head injury we will always provide you with a letter, however should we have any concerns we will contact you immediately. All injuries are recorded.
If your child needs medicine during the school day we require you to complete a form at the school office. We can only administer medicines that are prescribed by your doctor.
If your child suffers from allergies please let us know.
Our school nurse comes into school regularly and is available to meet individually with children or parents.
