Parent Support

Hi, my name is Paz Squire and I am the member of staff responsible for parent support at Deansbrook Junior School.

My job is to provide a range of support to parents, families and carers of our pupils so they can help them with their learning at home.

One of the ways I do this is to run a weekly coffee morning every Wednesday from 9am. Each week we cover a different topic. This is a chance to meet other parents and staff from the School and to find out more about learning at Deansbrook.  If you happen to miss a meeting, you can ask me for minutes and hand-outs. Please see the programme for this half term below.

We also run an English Conversation group for parents who are keen to develop their conversational English skills. This group takes place every Monday afternoon from 2pm - 3pm. The group is led by Mrs Sandhya Popat and this year we are hoping to offer parents the opportunity to to take English Speaking Board qualifications.

In November 2014 the School was successful in achieving the nationally recognised Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA).

I am also able to offer individual appointments should they be needed and I can link parents up with other agencies should more specialist help be required. Some of these agencies are listed below; click to download information leaflets for parents.
